JOB PURPOSE
The Mechanical Team Leader/ Supervisor – Mechanical Department is responsible for managing and leading all daily production activities within the mechanical workshop, will customarily and regularly supervise, train, monitor, identify and assign work tasks, performance manage, and otherwise direct the work of all operators within the Assigned Value Stream while utilizing established documentation, tools, equipment (e.g., lathe, milling, grinding, honing, balancing, laser marking, gold plating, etc.). The role ensures that production targets are achieved in terms of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity while developing team capability and driving continuous improvement using Lean principles.
MAIN DUTIES
+ Plan, organize, and supervise daily production activities for approximately 60 workers across multiple machining and special process areas.
+ Ensure production output meets customer requirements and internal targets for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Productivity.
+ Allocate manpower and resources effectively based on production priorities and capacity planning.
+ Monitor machine utilization and coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering to minimize downtime.
+ Enforce compliance with Standard Work, Work Instructions, HSE rules, and 5S standards in all areas.
+ Review production performance daily (KPIs, TIB boards, reports) and escalate issues where necessary.
+ Lead daily shift meetings and communication with operators and team leaders.
+ Drive continuous improvement activities using Lean tools (Kaizen, 5S, visual management, waste reduction, etc.).
+ Support training, multi-skilling, and competency development for operators and technicians.

Ensure compliance with ISO / AS9100, customer requirements, internal procedures

Maintain production records, KPIs, and communicate status to management
JOBHOLDER REQUIREMENTS
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
+ Experience: Minimum 5–8 years in manufacturing environment, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
+ Experience in mechanical production processes: CNC/Manual lathe, milling, grinding, honing, balancing, surface treatment, special processes is strongly preferred.
+ Knowledge of production planning, capacity management, and shopfloor control.
+ Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 8 Wastes, and continuous improvement methods.
+ Good knowledge of HSE and quality systems (AS9100, ISO, internal procedures, SOPs).
+ Foreign languages: English is a must. Knowledge of French is an advantage.
+ Computer skills: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), basic reporting tools.
