We are looking for Mechanical System Engineering Project Manager – Metro Rolling stock

The System Engineering Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of complex system engineering projects. They will oversee the planning, execution, and control of project activities, ensuring that technical requirements, budgets, and timelines are met. The System Engineering Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including system engineers, software developers, and stakeholders, to coordinate and optimize project performance.

Define the project scope, objectives, and technical requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.Develop a comprehensive project plan, including schedules, resource allocation, and milestones.Manage changes to the project scope and ensure the project remains aligned with the overall goals.Assemble and lead a multidisciplinary team of system engineers, software developers, and other technical specialists.Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to the system engineering team.Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule, identifying critical paths and dependencies.Monitor and control the project budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.Implement effective cost-control measures and report on project KPI’s.Identify, analyze, and proactively manage potential technical, operational, and organizational risks.Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of identified risks.Continuously monitor the project environment and adjust the risk management plan as needed.Act as Linkage between the rolling stock business Unit and Engineering center India.Engage with key stakeholders, including customers, executives, and cross-functional teams.Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders.Provide regular progress updates, technical reports, and presentations to stakeholders.Participate in global and local management meetings and present project health/KPI.Networking on all levels in India and overseas engineering departments.Establish and implement quality standards, internal workflows, tools, processes, and procedures for the system engineering project.Monitor and measure the quality of project deliverables, ensuring they meet the specified technical requirements.Coordinate with the system engineering team to address any quality-related issues or non-conformances.Ensure the successful completion and handover of the project to the customer or end-users.Conduct a comprehensive project review, documenting lessons learned and best practices.Collaborate with the team to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Desired Skills:

You should have minimum experience of 18-20 years along with a graduate or postgraduate degree in engineering. Expertise in the rolling stock product development process.Proven track record of cross-functional projects and tasks in a complex and changing environment. PMP/PMI certification and German language will be added advantage.Strong influence & negotiations skills with ability to drive decision making across multiple stakeholders at all levels.
