Airswift is looking for a Mechanical Supervisor to work in a contractor position (daily rate) offshore in Guyana for a major company in the oil and gas sector.
This role is responsible for leading mechanical maintenance activities onboard the vessel, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational integrity of all mechanical systems. The Mechanical Supervisor will manage a team of mechanics and coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize mechanical equipment performance.
The position follows a rotational offshore schedule: either 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off or 5 weeks on / 5 weeks off, depending on operational needs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and execute routine and corrective maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment. Ensure all plant and machinery comply with class and inspection requirements. Plan and manage resources effectively, including personnel, materials, and tools. Establish scope of work through briefings, toolbox talks, and clear communication. Promote training and competency development within the mechanical team. Conduct performance evaluations and support continuous improvement initiatives. Dismantle, repair, and reassemble mechanical equipment using correct procedures. Perform condition monitoring and diagnostic testing of mechanical assets. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment history. Support pollution control measures and ensure environmental compliance. Identify and halt unplanned discharges, reporting incidents per company procedures. Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment. Participate in emergency response duties and drills as per station bill.JOB QUALIFICATIONS
HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering preferred, or Chief Engineer Certificate as per STCW Reg AIII/2. Minimum 5 years of offshore experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Extensive experience in maintenance of oil pumps, gas compressors (reciprocating and centrifugal), water injection pumps, power generation equipment, machinery space equipment, and utility systems. FPSO experience desirable. Fully experienced with Permit to Work systems and Risk Assessment techniques. Medically fit according to offshore health requirements.LANGUAGES
