Mechanical & Plumbing Inspector - Owners Representative
Job Description Insight Global is seeking 2 Mechanical & Plumbing Inspectors to support multiple vertical construction renovation projects in the Washington D.C. area for one of our largest clients. These individuals will contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality construction projects. This role involves confirming compliance with project design and specifications, industry standards for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. You will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of mechanical installations while collaborating with a team of professionals dedicated to excellence. Day to Day Responsibilities: - Monitor the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical and plumbing systems, confirming proper functionality and performance - Inspect mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, for compliance with contract requirements and industry standards - Review contractor shop drawings and submittals to confirm alignment with project specifications - Identify, document and report non-conformances, coordinating with contractors and engineers to implement corrective actions - Conduct labor interviews to verify proper worker classification and wage compliance - Immediately notify contractors and relevant officials of any potentially life-threatening safety conditions - Maintain detailed inspection reports, logs, and records for quality assurance and compliance tracking - Oversee corrective actions for unacceptable construction work and support final inspections, punch lists, and project closeouts - Witness and document critical tests, such as pressure tests, leak tests, and system start-ups - Verify the quality of materials, workmanship, and equipment installations to confirm adherence to project specifications We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements - 8+ years of total experience / flexible with certs and years of experience - Federal experience or university experience vertical/renovations - Ability to review mechanical and plumbing drawings and specs - Understanding of local code - CQM-C - University experience/federal - Owners representative experience as a Mechanical & Plumbing inspector - Relevant Degree - Knowledge if PMI systems like Procore
