Maintenance Technician – Seminole Mill - Jacksonville, FL
The Opportunity:
The Maintenance Technician will perform routine and trouble-shooting tasks for equipment at the Seminole Mill. This position requires the flexibility to work in a multi-craft role and contributes to accomplishing results in a team-based environment.
(New employees commonly earn $42.33/Hour - plus OVERTIME with yearly increases.)
How you will impact WestRock:
Create maintenance requests for repairs based on findings with equipment in the mill. Perform maintenance tasks for equipment within the mill.Work as a team with other maintenance team members.Good communication skills.Extensive experience dealing with basic industrial safety topics such as lockout, fall protection, confined space entry, personal protective equipment, and guarding.
What you need to succeed:
Extensive industrial experience in at least 1 of the following areas is required:
Millwright (laser alignment skills required)Pipe fitting Machinist Welding Roll Grinding & Roll MaintenanceIndustrial Operations
Must be able to work in a heavy manufacturing setting.
Must be able to work and communicate effectively in team-based environment.
Must be reliable, dependable, and available for work in all areas of the mill.
Manufacturing or paper mill experience preferred
Must have at least 5 years of hands-on, documented experience in the following:
Industrial RiggingApplied MathematicsMeasurements – Layout skillsWelding Principles & PracticesCutting Principles & PracticesUse of Portable Tools & Hand ToolsSelecting and Using LubricantsInstallation of Bearings & SealsUnderstanding the Operation of PumpsPump & Motor Alignment – dial, feeler gauge, laserPump & Motor Component AssemblyMaintain & Rebuild - Mechanic Drives, Gear Boxes, Clutches, Jack shaftsBasic Hydraulics & PneumaticsBlueprint ReadingEquipment Installation – sole plates, concrete, leveling, alignment, conveyors, tracking, drives, rolls, splicingIndustrial Pipe fitting – tubing & hose systems, plumbing systems, installation & maintenance of valvesIndustrial OperationsPhysical & Other Requirements:
Standing for extended periods.Awkward and/or repetitive movements.Moving or lifting of equipment, materials, and tools up to 50 lbs. repeatedly for a 12-hr. shift.Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or movement within confined areas.
