Job Title: Mechanical Lab Technician

Job Description

As a Mechanical Lab Technician, you will work in the mechanical lab conducting tests on engines to evaluate fuel additives. You will be responsible for assembling and disassembling engines, running tests, and analyzing data using computer software. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and experience as a mechanic, with a focus on safety and adherence to established procedures.

ResponsibilitiesAssemble and disassemble engines for testing.Conduct mechanical tests on engines to assess fuel additives.Record and analyze test data using spreadsheets and computer software.Monitor automotive and mechanical tests in your assigned area and document all pertinent data.Communicate relevant information to internal customers, team members, and supervisors.Perform standard preventive maintenance as scheduled and complete necessary documentation.Support mechanical SBU's in meeting test demands during all 24-hour rotating shifts.Participate in personal and group training processes and provide orientation to new employees.Engage in internal staff meetings, committees, and task force efforts.Complete special projects and team and customer evaluations promptly.Essential SkillsStrong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience of 3 or more years.Proficiency in automotive mechanics, engine diagnosis, and troubleshooting.Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures consistently.Effective communication skills to convey information clearly and convincingly.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to make timely decisions based on a mix of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.Problem-solving skills to tackle complex issues using all appropriate tools.Project management skills to handle tasks across regional and organizational boundaries.Innovative mindset to generate breakthrough solutions and implement new conceptsWork Environment

This role is based in an R&D laboratory equipped with test cells to evaluate additive performance. Enjoy working in a clean, climate-controlled environment with rotating shifts: Sunday to Wednesday OR Wednesday to Saturday, from 11am-11pm or 11pm-11am.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
