Hybrid – Torrance, CAMoog is looking for a Mechanical/Hydraulic Design Engineer to join our Test Equipment Engineering team. You will develop complex mechanical test equipment needed to test electrohydraulic, electromechanical, mechanical and electropneumatic components and systems for military aircraft. Reporting to an Engineering manager, you will have the option of a 9/80 hybrid work schedule (3 or more days/week in the office depending on program needs) in Torrance, CA.
As a Mechanical/Hydraulic Design Engineer, you will:
Contribute to the conceptualization and design of automatically controlled mechanical/hydraulic test rigs
Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses
Contribute to the preparation of successful proposal designs, cost estimates, and technical write ups and reports
Work as part of a design/development team, which includes other Test Equipment engineers
Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical reputation
Create reliable designs through a comprehensive experimental development test program. Contribute to the evolution of the conceptual design, technical project planning, detail design, and development testing.
To be considered for this role, here’s what you’ll typically need to bring with you:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
6+ years of Engineering work experience in Mechanical/Hydraulic Design, Test, or Manufacturing
It would be a plus if you also had:
Experience in the development of mechanical assemblies or control systems
Experience in development of hydraulic assemblies (Manifolds, Hydraulic Tubing, Valves, SOVs, EHSVs)
Experience with development programs working as a part of a project team
Experience with the design and development of electro-hydraulic, electromechanical, or electro-pneumatic servo-mechanisms
Experience in the areas of Requirements Definition, Integration, V&V, modeling & simulation with project management
Experience in the Aerospace industry
Master’s Degree in Engineering

Salary Range Transparency:
Torrance, CA $100,000.00–$135,000.00 AnnuallySalary Range Disclaimer
