Your Role: Mechanical Fitter

A great opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join our Above Water Systems (AWS) team based in Garden Island. In this role, you will perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities on critical assets including the Main Services Building and CCD systems, dock operations and reticulated service operations and monitoring activities in order to meet the demands of the users of the GIDP (including users of buildings and facilities, Dock operations and berthed Vessels).
 

Your Experience:

Carry out assigned planned maintenance and repair activities for the reticulated services, cope points and Pumphouse equipment

Operate and maintain emergency diesel generators, valves and pumps

Undertake training to learn the operations of the Pumphouse and under the direction of the Dock Master, perform pumphouse operations during dockings and undocking

Operate reticulated services

Connection and maintenance of water bubblers and emergency wash stations

Your Skills:

Trade qualified Fitter and Machinist

Heavy engineering experience and machining skills

Driver’s Licence  Class C

Forklift & EWP licence or ability to acquire

Strong experience in Pump maintenance/repair

Experience in brazing & use of oxy-acetylene equipment

Experience with operation and maintenance of large diesel engines
