Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Mechanical Fitter to join the versatile Process - Maintenance team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to Mechanical Maintenance supervisor -you will be responsible for performing high quality preventive, corrective and routine maintenance activities in a safe, health and environmentally friendly and efficient and cost reflective manner to deliver reliable performance of the Processing plant equipment.

Duties and responsibility for this position will include but are not limited to the following:

Carry out maintenance activities assigned by the maintenance supervisor in accordance with safe work procedures and standards which include JSA’s, FLRA, hazard identification and SOPs. Maintain a professional work ethic through effective, honest communication with supervisors, peers, and operations personnel always. Ensure allocated jobs are always completed to a high-quality standard and should provide feedback. Complete all PM sheets and other job-related paperwork to a high-quality standard, focusing on accuracy of information returned to the supervisor, parts used, tasks completed, and defects identified/rectified. Identify and resolve issues associated with breakdown/corrective maintenance in a timely manner. Conduct and participate in safety briefings, toolbox talks, and inspections, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workplace both during and after completing a task. Train and mentor other team members to promote skill development and enhance team productivity.

To be considered for the position, one must meet the following requirements:

Grade 12 Certificate. Minimum Certificate in Fitting or equivalent in Mechanical engineering Fields. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance of fixed plant equipment, industry qualification and preferably in mining industry or mineral processing industry role. Ability to show initiative and have good interpersonal skills Must have good communication skills in English language. Demonstrate application of continuous improvement ideas Having valid Zambian driver’s license will be an added advantage. Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) and ERB.
