Mechanical Engineering Technician
Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician. This role will take place out of our facility in Hodges, SC. As the Mechanical Engineering (ME) Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting and improving manufacturing processes, equipment reliability, and production efficiency. You will serve as a technical leader on the shop floor, collaborating with engineers, operators, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement. The expected annual salary range for this role is $53253.0 - $78104.4 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. **What you’ll do:** + Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment and process issues. + Support implementation of new equipment, tooling, and process changes. + Collaborate with engineers to develop and update work instructions and standard operating procedures. + Train and mentor technicians and operators on technical procedures and best practices. + Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment uptime, scrap, and productivity. + Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and kaizen events. + Contribute to a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by complying with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment PPE and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties. + Assist hourly personnel and supervisors in their efforts to improve their operations. + Debug equipment to improve manufacturing processes. **Required (Basic) Qualifications:** + Associates Degree in Engineering Technology, Industrial Manufacturing, or a related field from an accredited institution. + 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment including hands-on experience with mechanical systems, automation, and process troubleshooting. + Eaton will not consider applicants for employment, immigration sponsorship, or support for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. **Skills:** + Proficient with computers and programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Power BI and SharePoint. + Experience reading and understanding technical blueprints or drawings. + Must work somewhat independently and make decisions that affect the workgroup. + Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting needs and expectations of internal and external customers. + Able to direct and influence others without formal leadership authority. + Working knowledge of Eaton Lean Systems, Eaton Quality Systems, Eaton Safety Process, basic electricity principles, and ISO 9000. + Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills. + You will participate in problem solving activities with the quality team, including but not limited to, Product Line Quality Council & 8D investigations. \#LI-HA1 We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
