Mechanical Engineering Intern - 13 Month Placement

**What you’ll do:**
The Mechanical Engineering Intern plays a vital role in contributing to the design, development and manufacturing of life safety devices or cutting edge Air to Air Refuelling and Actuation products.
The internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience with advanced mechanical and systems engineering solutions, while benefit from industry leading mentorship and learning resources.
You will work alongside experienced engineers and cross functional project teams, supporting both in service and developmental products.
Your role will involve assisting with design activities, prototyping, manufacturing, problem solving and contributing to real engineering challenges, making a meaningful impact from day one.
Collaborate with cross functional project teams, including technical specialists, to support and/or lead the development and refinement of mechanical and systems designs.
Apply mechanical and systems engineering principles throughout the full product life cycle, including requirements capture and management, systems architecture and design, development and integration and verification, validation and qualification.
Develop an understanding of customer needs and how these are translated into actionable engineering tasks and deliverables.
Demonstrate academic knowledge and theoretical understanding in the context of advanced aerospace technologies or fire safety techologies and enguneering applications.
Stay informed through research; stay up-to-date on emerging technologies, materials and manufacturing techniques, providing valuable insights to enhance product development.
Employ CAD software to produce detailed drawings and models.
Participate in the development and testing of prototypes, evaluating and enhancing product performance and functionality.
Work closely with the mechanical engineering team to assist and/or leade the dreatiob and improvemnet of designs.
**Qualifications:**
Currently pursing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
**Skills:**
Mechanical or systems design and manufacturing exposure is beneficial
Proficiency in CAD software, SolidWorks experience is beneficial Microsoft Office
Communication and teamwork
Self-motivated and detail orientated
Confidence to raise questions and suggest solutions
