Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to support sustaining engineering activities for our medical device portfolio. This role is critical in driving cost savings, managing product transfer initiatives, and supporting design changes to ensure continued product quality, compliance, and manufacturability.

ResponsibilitiesIdentify and implement opportunities for cost reduction through material changes, process improvements, and supplier optimization.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain) to evaluate and validate cost-saving proposals.Conduct root cause analysis and risk assessments to ensure changes maintain product integrity and compliance.Lead or support the transfer of products between manufacturing sites or suppliers.Develop and update engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, and validation protocols.Coordinate with global teams to ensure smooth transitions with minimal impact to supply and quality.Evaluate and implement design changes to improve product performance, manufacturability, or compliance.Support change control processes including design verification, validation, and documentation updates.Work closely with R&D, Regulatory, and Quality teams to ensure changes meet applicable standards and regulations.Support on-site testing.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the medical device or regulated industry.Strong understanding of design for manufacturability, materials, and mechanical systems.Experience with SolidWorks and engineering documentation systems.Familiarity with FDA regulations and relevant standards.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.Knowledge of validation and verification processes.Ability to work in a cross-functional, global team.Work Environment

The role is onsite, involving collaboration with global teams and cross-functional departments. The position offers 2 weeks of PTO and 6 paid holidays. Work involves utilizing technologies like SolidWorks and adhering to FDA regulations. The candidate will be part of a dynamic environment focused on sustaining engineering within the medical device industry.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Centennial, Colorado.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
