Mechanical Engineer – FEP – Dordrecht Works

We are looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Manufacturing Technology team at our Dordrecht site. In this role, you will provide essential technical support to manufacturing operations, helping to maintain and enhance production performance and equipment reliability. You will collaborate closely with technology engineers, operations personnel, and cross-functional teams to implement both incremental and breakthrough improvements in our products and processes.

 The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Provide mechanical engineering expertise to support manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting equipment issues, optimizing plant reliability, and participating in Process Safety Management (PSM) activities.Oversee day-to-day operations related to mechanical equipment, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and conducting root cause analyses.Identify, design, and implement modifications to improve the safety, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and environmental performance of production units.Contribute mechanical engineering knowledge to project design and execution, ensuring compliance with specifications, engineering standards, and quality requirements.Lead or participate in PSM-related reviews, such as Process Hazards Analyses (PHA), Management of Change (MOC), Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews (PSSR), and Mechanical Integrity assessments.Support the development and maintenance of critical spare parts inventories and equipment maintenance procedures.Assist in the early stages of capital projects to ensure selection of equipment that meets process requirements, maximizes uptime, and minimizes total life cycle cost.Analyze equipment and process performance data to recommend and justify improvements.Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives for plant equipment and reliability.Develop, review, and update procedures and technical documentation to ensure safe and effective operation and maintenance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve mechanical and process problems.Experience in planning, prioritizing, and managing multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects.Strong initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.Interest and for hands-on work with a range of personnel, including operators, maintenance staff, engineers, plant management, and senior leadership.Fluent in English; Dutch language skills are an advantage. Willingness to learn Dutch if not already proficient.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Relevant experience in polymer manufacturing, rotating equipment, reliability engineering, or data analytics is an advantage.
