The EA Business Unit in Wendell, North Carolina, which is its U.S. headquarters, focuses on photovoltaic inverters, medium-voltage power distribution equipment including packaging and services, and solutions, including automation. **We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer. This position will be based in Wendell, NC.** Siemens is growing, and we are excited to welcome new experienced mechanical engineers to the medium voltage power distribution team! We pride ourselves on creating a diverse and engaging environment where experienced engineers can sharpen their skills and continue to grow. **You’ll** ** make an impact by:** + Review of customer specifications and requirements while working with your engineering project team to ensure we deliver a complete and optimal product + Take overall mechanical ownership of the project bill of materials including developing new assemblies, validating functionality, and releasing the part/assemblies to production + Provide direction as mechanical technical lead to a team of designers who will take your concepts and turn them into new or updated 3D models + Work directly with the factory manufacturing team addressing any challenges as they produce your designs + Help improve our products by working collaboratively to identify design enhancements + Help improve our processes and tools by providing feedback to team leaders and excellent business teams. + Siemens products possibly supported by this role: GM-SG medium voltage switchgear, SIMOVAC medium voltage Motor Controllers **You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:** **Basic Qualifications:** + BS in Mechanical Engineering + 3+ years of experience in a technical engineering role, at least 1 year working within a complex made to order manufacturing environment. + Experience working with 3D models + Demonstratable proficiency with Autocad + Demonstratable proficiency working with SAP or similar MRP/ERP systems + Demonstratable proficiency working with complex engineering BoMs “Bill of Materials”. + No travel required, hybrid schedule (some days in office, some days work from home) option after training on the product/process **Preferred Qualifications:** + Knowledge of Utility Switchgear equipement **About Siemens:** We are a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare.
