As a member of the Facilities team, the Engineer will be responsible for supporting our Maintenance, Utilities and Manufacturing operations at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant in southwestern Virginia. The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for evaluating current processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability, and develop best practices within the production process. In this role, you will provide real-time support, guidance, and direction to maintenance and utilities personnel. As a Facilities Engineer, you will work closely with other Facilities, Reliability, Process and Modernization Engineers on key projects and initiatives. You will troubleshooting equipment issues, lead root cause investigations and determine appropriate preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
Facilities support will include:
+ Providing reliability engineering support to our Maintenance and Utilities Departments
+ Assist in developing new and redline existing Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams
+ Provide technical support to meet maintenance and production schedules in accordance with quality standards, safety requirements, and regulatory standards
+ Facilitate and/or guide improvement projects, maintenance projects, and aid in process troubleshooting
+ Author, maintain and update necessary maintenance craftsmen procedures & assist with training when applicable
+ Assist in developing cost estimates for new/existing products and projects
+ Collaborate and function in a multidiscipline team-based environment
+ Coordinate with your Process Engineering peers in their respective production areas
+ Interact with customers and suppliers
+ Lead/support Process Hazard Analysis for new and existing processes
+ Support Environmental Risk Management Plan and the Process Safety Management program
+ Interact and aid modernization projects
+ Develop and implement quality, safety, environmental, and process improvement
+ Provide Engineering support across multi-discipline industrial operations
+ Develop scopes of work, provide design information and prepare cost estimates for maintenance, process, reliability and modernization engineering efforts
+ Provide technical support to area/craft maintenance and utilities departments as needed
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 4 years work experience
+ Work experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and industrial infrastructure
+ Capable of developing designs, drawings, SOWs, and equipment specifications
+ Shall be able to provide tech support for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, power generation, and general engineering
+ Must have the ability to effectively communicate ideas and instructions
+ Understanding of preventative maintenance
+ Knowledge of explosives and chemical industry hazards
+ General knowledge of EPA and OHSA industry standards
+ Microsoft Office knowledge and experience
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Mechanical, Civil, Structural Engineer with 6 years of experience in equipment maintenance, repair and design
+ Familiarity with EPA Risk Management (40 CFR 168.73) and/or OSHA Process Safety Management (29 CFR 1910.119(j)) - Mechanical Integrity
+ Experience with Preventive and Predictive Maintenance methods
+ Possesses computer competencies in CAD software
+ Familiarity with ASME B31.3 Process Piping Guide, API-510 Pressure Vessel Inspection Code, API-570 Inspection & Repair of Piping Systems and API-653 Tank Inspection & Repair
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $88189 - $149922
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
