Chenega Worldwide Support (CWS) is a premier provider of Architecture and Engineering support services to federal customers around the world. Founded in 2016 to support federal operations OCONUS, CWS holds true to its mission that no matter the location, we are there to get the job done.
The **Mechanical Engineer** will focus on the design of mechanical systems for new facilities, additions, and renovation projects. This will require providing technical leadership for the creation of construction drawings and specifications, and existing system condition studies. Qualified candidates will meet with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors, and others to address mechanical issues and develop effective working relationships. The project clientele includes higher education, commercial, hospitality, municipal, and institutional facilities.
**Responsibilities**
+ Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems for a variety of market types
+ Develop HVAC system designs for projects based on the scope of work and/or client RFPs
+ Write/edit project specifications
+ Code compliance research
+ Coordinate work with other disciplines
+ Provide construction administration services
+ Perform QA/QC of detailed design documents, reports, and studies.
+ Oversee and provide guidance to junior engineers
+ Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university (or equivalent)
+ 5+ years of design/engineering consulting experience is preferred
+ PE License (or on path to obtain)
+ Background check with the ability to obtain a secret clearance
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**
+ Ability to travel to client locations as needed
+ Strong written and verbal communication\
+ Knowledge of computer operations and software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint),
+ Proficiency in Revit software
+ Knowledge and understanding of AutoCAD and MS Office
+ Knowledge and understanding of Building Codes
+ Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA, etc.)
+ Ability to organize, balance, and prioritize multiple projects
+ Ability to solve problems and make analytical, timely, and well-thought-out decisions
+ Have an excellent work ethic and attitude
+ Work is typically performed in an office setting, with some time spent in the field and at client locations
