\t\t\t\t\tSenior Mechanical Engineer position is in the Ride & Show Mechanical Engineering (R&SME) group at Walt Disney World. You will be responsible for the development, management and execution of various engineering projects at Walt Disney World that may involve various types of theme park attractions including but not limited to roller coasters, round rides, omni movers, water flume rides, animatronics, parade floats, transportation, hotels and resorts. You will work alongside other mechanical engineers, designers and ride control engineers and will be performing design reviews with Design Assurance, Operations, Maintenance, Safety and Walt Disney Imagineering. You will also report out to Facilities Asset Management and other aforementioned stakeholders on the progress on your projects.Support partner organizations to deliver a world-class experience for our guests and cast. Primary responsibilities include performing job captain duties on small to large projects such as design, component specification, engineering and hazard analysis, manufacturing support, installation, acceptance testing, post turnover support and general project management. Other responsibilities include mentoring engineers and providing second set of eyes support to ensure compliance with the design workflow process, standards, and codes.Usually works with minimum supervision, conferring with leaders on unusual matters. Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity. Has appreciable latitude for un-reviewed action and decision.

\t\t\t\t\t• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Sciences or Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university.• Minimum five (5) years proven experience in design of heavy mechanical equipment such as large conveyance systems, automotive or large robotic systems.• Demonstrated experience leading technical groups and multidiscipline teams.• Proven record of strong leadership skills with good coaching abilities.• Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills to audiences at executive, peer and supporting levels.• Demonstrated experience successfully completing multiple, concurrent, engineering tasks and projects.• Demonstrated experience partnering across multiple disciplines and organizations while managing expectations of diverse stakeholders.• Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing Engineering and Design software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.• Demonstrated proficiency in performing classical and/or computer-based engineering analysis utilizing hand calculations, FEA software (ANSYS preferred) and/or MathCAD.• Proven experience utilizing design standards including AWS, DIN, ASTM, SAE and ASME standards.• Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.• Demonstrated five (5) years amusement industry mechanical engineer design experience, gravity coasters, round rides, dark rides, omni movers.• Demonstrated experience with ride testing and/or commissioning.Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Sciences or Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited college or university.Preferred Qualifications\t• Proven active, or ability to obtain, Professional Engineer license in Florida• Minimum three (3) years proven experience with Disney design standards or equivalent applicable codes and standards such as ASTM F24.• Demonstrated experience in engineering design involving fiberglass and other composite materials• Demonstrated commitment to maintaini

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $100.00/hr.
