Description
The mechanical engineer will be responsible for the full mechanical design cycle — from concept and design calculations to detailed CAD modeling, fabrication support, and final commissioning.
Lead the full mechanical design process of industrial furnaces, ovens, and environmental chambers.
Perform engineering calculations (thermal, structural, materials) to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable equipment designs.
Create detailed 3D CAD models, assembly drawings, and fabrication documentation.
Select appropriate materials, insulation, heating elements, cooling systems, and structural components.
Collaborate closely with sales, customers, controls engineers, fabricators, and installers to ensure designs meet customer specifications and manufacturing capabilities.
Provide technical support during equipment assembly, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably with industrial furnace, thermal processing, or custom equipment design.
• Strong expertise in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials science.
• Extensive experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks strongly preferred).
• Experience designing equipment involving combustion systems, electric heating, cooling systems, and safety systems.
• Strong knowledge of ASME codes, NFPA, and other relevant industry standards.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage deadlines.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
