Location: Onsite – Melbourne, FL
Join a cutting-edge space systems team as a Mechanical Engineer, reporting to the General Manager. You’ll contribute across the full satellite system lifecycle—from concept and design through integration, testing, and launch—ensuring mechanical integrity, performance, and compliance with aerospace standards.
This is an onsite role based in Melbourne, Florida, working closely with a collaborative, multi-functional team.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and analyze mechanical components and assemblies for satellite systems.Perform FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to validate structural integrity under launch and operational conditions.Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and testing teams to ensure mechanical design feasibility and performance.Support integration and environmental testing of mechanical systems.Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and failure investigations.Develop and maintain mechanical documentation and specifications.Contribute to continuous improvement of mechanical design processes and tools.Required SkillsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.4+ years of professional experienceStrong proficiency in mechanical design and analysis.Experience with FEA tools and methodologies.Familiarity with aerospace standards including NASA, DoD, ISO, and AS specifications.Experience in space or defense projects.Experience with MATLAB for modeling and analysis.Preferred QualificationsExperience with satellite or high-reliability mechanical systems.Knowledge of MIL-STD-1540, MIL-STD-883, and NASA-STD-8739 series.Exposure to ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality systems.Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
