WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for managing the Repair and Maintenance team and Engineering team in our fast-paced FMCG factory. This role requires a dynamic leader with strong technical expertise and exceptional managerial abilities. The Assistant Engineering Manager will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of maintenance and engineering activities while upholding safety, compliance, and quality standards. Will play a key role in driving business objectives, improving team collaboration, and delivering results that align with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude. WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED Responsibilities + Managing Maintenance Activities: + Oversee daily maintenance operations, ensuring timely and efficient execution of tasks. + Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability. + Managing Maintenance Contractors and Technicians: + Provide leadership, guidance, and support to maintenance engineers and technicians. + Monitor performance, set goals, and conduct regular performance evaluations. + Managing 3rd Party Repair and Maintenance Services: + Coordinate and oversee work performed by external contractors and service providers. + Ensure compliance with contractual agreements, safety standards, and quality expectations. + Managing Maintenance Contracts: + Create and manage maintenance contracts to achieve cost-effective and reliable services. + Monitor contract performance and address any issues promptly. + Planned Maintenance Management: + Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs to enhance equipment longevity and performance. + Utilize data-driven approaches to optimize maintenance schedules. + CMMS Software Management: + Oversee the use of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for tracking work orders and maintenance activities. + Ensure accurate data entry and generate reports for performance analysis. + Breakdown Analysis and Equipment Efficiency: + Perform root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions. + Identify opportunities for improving equipment efficiency and reliability. + Team Management: + Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team to achieve Engineering team goals. + Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. + Supporting Project Engineers and Utilities Team: + Collaborate with project engineers and utilities team to support ongoing and new projects. + Provide technical insights and assistance as needed. + Safety Management: + Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted safely and comply with health and safety legislation. + Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate hazards. + Training and Development: + Identify training needs and technical development opportunities for the team. + Organize and facilitate training programs to enhance team capabilities. + Budget Management: + Manage the R&M budget effectively, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring efficient use of resources. + Creating Budget and R&M forecast + Spare Parts Management: + Oversee the spare parts warehouse, ensuring optimal stock levels and cost efficiency. + Monitor inventory to prevent shortages or overstocking. + Technical Support: + Provide technical assistance to production operators and maintenance personnel. + Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform on-call duties as required. + Develop and maintain safe operating procedures for maintenance team operations. + Plan and manage comprehensive overhauls of machinery and equipment. + Lead external audits and conduct regular risk assessments. + Ensure all maintenance activities comply with environmental regulations, safety standards, and company policies. + Track, address, and close safety, process safety, machine safety, and failure tag actions. + Initiate and lead cost-saving improvements and maintenance-related projects. + Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with internal and external audit requirements. + Lead and implement the management of change process within the engineering team. + Plan and manage shift schedules to ensure adequate coverage for maintenance activities. Experience & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field). + Minimum 5 years of R&M management experience, undertaking responsibility ideally in a multinational environment. + Proven experience in maintenance management preferably within an FMCG or manufacturing environment. + Strong leadership and team management skills. + Strong knowledge in CMMS (Computerized maintenance management system) and maintenance planning tools. + Knowledge of mechanical & Electrical systems used in FMCG production, including hydraulics, pneumatics, packaging machines, and conveyors. + Excellent oral and written communication skills in English with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels. + Advanced user of MS Office applications. + Familiarity with Technical Drawings and AutoCad. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations. + Commitment to safety and continuous improvement. + Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. + Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 production environment. + Living (or willing to live) in Corlu.
