About the Role
Harman Professional is seeking a talented, highly motivated, and dynamic mechanical engineer to join our product development team. As the Mechanical Engineer, you will oversee the research, development, and design of the engineering loudspeaker systems projects throughout all phases of the product design lifecycle. You will also be designing for various materials and processes such as plastic injection/compression molding, die casting, metal machining, metal forming/stamping, and welded assemblies, utilizing extensive material finishing and cosmetic treatments. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, advanced mechanical engineering experience, and a good understanding of professional loudspeaker systems while being a self-starter, managing multiple tasks, and working with minimal supervision. What You Will Do
Design and develop complex mechanical systems, components and assemblies for loudspeaker cabinets, transducers, suspension components, brackets, and fixtures among others.Research design options and perform DOE studies to determine potential design feasibility or application. Explore new and existing materials and methods to solve design and/or cost challengesCreate and implement suitable tests to verify designs meet mechanical requirements including applicable international safety regulatory aspects. Prepare and present technical reports.Perform structural, thermal analyses and topology optimization of components and assemblies using finite element analysis (FEA) softwareConduct in-depth tolerance analysis and apply GD&T at sub-assembly and full system levelWhat You Need
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree, with 4+ years related engineering experienceProficiency in the use of design and analytical tools such as 3D CAD modeling and simulation tools for the design of complex mechanical structuresFamiliarity with standard fabrication, welding, and machining practicesThorough understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsWork as a self-starter, manage multiple tasks, and work with minimal supervision in a collaborative multi-disciplined team environmentWhat is Nice to Have
Structural engineering knowledge for rigging and suspension system designPrevious experience in loudspeaker design/manufacturingExperience designing components for injection molding, die casting, woodworking, sheet metal, stamping, CNC machining, compression molding, hot/cold forging, etc. utilizing SolidworksExperience working with suppliers and in-region teams to define and refine tooling, fixtures, and assembly capabilitiesFamiliarity with drawing standards such as ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5.What Makes You Eligible

Salary Ranges:
