Job Description
The Mechanical Drafter is responsible for producing and maintaining precise 2D technical drawings and 3D models for structural and piping equipment. This includes developing layouts, general arrangements, and detailed drawings from engineering concepts, applying fabrication techniques and weld specifications, and ensuring design accuracy and compliance with industry standards. The role also involves preparing bills of materials and weight take-offs, supporting the integration of furnace and piping designs into larger project packages, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and budgets. Adherence to internal drafting procedures, quality standards, and ISO certification is essential.
Responsibilities
Produce and maintain accurate 2D technical drawings and 3D models for structural and piping equipment.Develop layouts, general arrangements, and detail drawings from engineering concepts and 3D models.Apply plate fabrication techniques and weld callouts/designations in drawings.Review and check designs for accuracy, clearances, and compliance with specifications, codes, and standards.Prepare bills of materials (BOM) and weight take-offs.Support integration of structural furnace and piping designs into broader project packages.Collaborate with engineering, project management, and fabrication teams to deliver designs on schedule and within budget.Adhere to internal drafting procedures, quality standards, and ISO certification.Essential Skills
Associate degree in Drafting and Design Technology (or equivalent technical education).Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D and Autodesk Inventor 3D.Strong understanding of structural drafting and piping layouts.Knowledge of plate fabrications and weld symbols/callouts.Ability to interpret engineering concepts and produce accurate graphical deliverables.Experience in an industrial or multidiscipline engineering environment.Familiarity with MS Office Suite.Exposure to international projects and standards.Work Environment
The office environment is equipped with a workstation in a cubicle that includes two monitors. The position requires being onsite five days a week. The work culture is laid-back and friendly, with a close-knit team. The company hosts regular events, provides a fully loaded gym onsite, and offers fresh fruit for the team every other Monday, as well as donuts or bagels every other Friday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
