Mechanical Drafter
Job Title: Mechanical DrafterJob Description

The Mechanical Drafter prepares drawings to support sales efforts and the manufacturing process of quality products. This role involves developing shop prints, work instructions, programming for production, and software updates. Experience with programming software such as ByCam, Metamation, and SigmaNest is essential, as well as familiarity with machine brands like Bystronic, Trumpfs, Cincinnati, and Amada.

ResponsibilitiesVerify revisions to ensure they meet customer specifications.Create drawing files and import them into nesting software.Program for production and maintain department databases with current revisions.Review production drawings and CAD models, determining necessary adjustments for manufacturing.Generate work instructions for shop use, referencing blueprints and customer specifications.Collaborate with sales to develop quotes using programming methods.Communicate effectively through written and verbal means.Wear approved personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, as needed.Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor or management.Understand or show willingness to learn SolidWorks.
Essential SkillsExperience in 3D modeling, SolidWorks, CAD, and Revit.Proficiency in ByCam, Metamation, SigmaNest, and CNC programming.Expertise in nesting software and SigmaNest.Experience with sheet metal layout (radial line development).Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).Ability to organize daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious CAD experience or relevant work history.Technical training or degree.Good understanding of geometric tolerances and measurement skills.Strong keyboarding skills.Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Work Environment

The position is based in an office environment, operating Monday through Friday on 1st shift hours. Timing is flexible depending on the candidate's preferred schedule. The company is a growing, nationwide organization known as one of the original steel fabrication shops. They have invested in their growth with four wage increases over the past two years to remain competitive and maintain cost of living standards. The CAD Technician will be part of a team of three, following a recent separation of their CAD group and promotion of a supervisor.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $65000.00/hr.
