Mechanical Development Lead
**Job Responsibilities:** + Technical leadership in all mechanical aspects of product development, launch and maintenance stage process. Ensure smooth design transfer to industrialization, implementation of product requirements, check & optimization of systems and sub-systems, problem-solving in design and providing guidance to internal team, and external vendors ensuring robust end-to-end design to fulfil quality / reliability/ safety and meet system requirements. + Product requirements definition, development and launch plus aftercare of innovation projects, driving design review and development with (internal) engineering teams, OEM/ODM manufactures, including lifecycle product quality improvements. + Drive excellence in CTQ definition and control; design FMEA analysis. Use of critical thinking to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Display a knack for complex problem solving by evaluating options and implementing solutions that address the root cause. + Ensure that the development team correctly interpret and implement of the system/ Module/ Component Requirements during the different phases of the product development and translate them into product specifications in cooperation with System Architects, support development and realization of product verification, test set-up used to verify innovative products, driving smooth verification test execution and reporting. + Ensure new functions fulfill applicable generic system requirements and define new system requirement of new functions developed. The MCC-WH team is part of Personal Health, the Research and Development organization is distributed over two main locations: Netherlands (Eindhoven and Drachten) and China (Shenzhen and Hong Kong). It focuses on the development of medically and non-medically endorsed lifestyle products. The team is responsible for the end-to-end development and realization of new product propositions – medical and non-medical regulated devices - with the goal of driving business growth by bringing existing, differentiating, and new product propositions to market. You will be working within a team of highly motivated people across our different sites in China and the Netherlands. Your office location is ShenZhen, China. For our office- based teams, this means working in-person at least 4 days per week. **To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience.** + Degree or MS in Mechanical Engineering; Physics; Industrial Eng, Quality or Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechatronic Engineering. + Have minimum 5 years of experience in the field of Technical Product Development, track-record of developing consumer-related products from concept development to market launch with key involvement in the industrialization phase. + In-depth knowledge of manufacturing and assembling techniques for thermo-plastics, elastomers, rubbers, and fabrics. Capable to challenge tool makers, molders, assembly suppliers on their technical proposals + Modelling experience: Mechanical CAD (Creo is preferred), Mechanisms, FEA, Fluid Mechanics, Thermal, or other. Relevant expertise in product design for plastic injection, metal stamping, die-casting, rubber parts. + Integration of electrical components inside a mechanical embodiment (thermal management, EMC, wiring, PCB, software integration, display…). + Qualification in Design for Six Sigma; experienced in using tools and methodologies such as dFMEA; CTQ flow down; risk assessment etc. Proof of statistical engineering experience and design for reliability. Capable to executive seamlessly tolerance calculations through multiple components + Excellent communication skills at all levels (fluent in English) to communicate with our multi-national team. Fluent in Mandarin and/or Cantonese. Experience in working with Far-East OEM/ODM external vendors. You’re well experienced in communication with suppliers. A plus for individuals with solid experiences in working with projects teams spread across multiple locations. + Composure, conflict management, timely decision making, listening skills, self-motivation, and perseverance are all requirements of this position. Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, team oriented, new product development environment. Creative, and abstract thinker with a good balance to application, result-driven, accurate and quality minded. Ambition to create value for our customers. + Travel in South China region: ~25-30% Furthermore, you thrive in a fast-paced environment, where you work with International cross functional teams to make things happen.
