Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today’s and tomorrow’s power grid! The EA Business Unit in Wendell, North Carolina, which is its U.S. headquarters, focuses on photovoltaic inverters, medium-voltage power distribution equipment including packaging and services, and solutions, including automation. **We are looking for a Mechanical Designer. This position will be based in Wendell, NC.** Siemens is growing, and we are excited to welcome new experienced mechanical engineers to the medium voltage power distribution team! We pride ourselves on creating a diverse and engaging environment where experienced engineers can sharpen their skills and continue to grow. **You’ll** ** make an impact by:** + Work with guidance from assigned mentor and sr. engineer to design models of parts and assemblies for energy management equipment from concepted to completed 3D model + Be a critical part of a custom designed to order business focused on unique customer requirements + Work directly with the factory manufacturing team addressing any challenges as they produce your designs + Help improve our products by working collaboratively to identify design enhancements and then working to integrate them + Create Bills of Materials, develop new assemblies, validate functionality, and release the part/assemblies to production **You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:** **Basic Qualifications:** + BS in Mechanical Engineering (to be completed before start date) + 1 years’ experience in 3D modeling on the job or demonstrated knowledge on school projects + No travel required, hybrid schedule (some days in office, some days work from home) option after training on the product/process **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience with mechanical design for medium voltage switchgear. **About Siemens:** We are a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare.
