Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our robotics department and collaborate with experienced engineers to design and create 3D models and assemblies of various components and mechanisms. This role involves working both onsite (70%) and remotely (30%) with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to develop cutting-edge robotics technology. The successful candidate will identify problem areas, propose design modifications, and approve mechanical designs. Additionally, the engineer will support manufacturing processes and validate designs by conducting tests on product hardware according to the mechanical loading environment.

Responsibilities

Generate analysis reports and create mechanical test plans and reports.Identify risks, propose solutions, and develop mitigation strategies.Investigate problems and failures during development and testing.Support manufacturing and validate/prove the design by conducting tests on product hardware.

Requirements:

5+ years of Mechanical Design experience.Experience designing machined parts and drivetrain components.Proficiency in creating 3D models using NX and Teamcenter.Understanding of GD&T.

Assets:

Previous Aerospace experience is a plus.Familiarity with relevant industries such as aerospace manufacturing, military and defense companies, robotics, or medical devices.

Work Environment

The candidate will have the option to work from home two days a week and will be required to attend critical meetings in the office weekly. The work environment is friendly and collaborative, featuring an excellent cafeteria and a workspace within a cubicle alongside the engineering team.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Mississauga, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
