Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Job Description
This is a contract position, estimated to be between 6 and 12 months, or potentially longer. The role involves converting drawings from 2D and other outdated formats into 3D drawings, reverse engineering a competitor's part to create new drawings, collaborating with the quality lab to obtain part measurements, and updating designs for accuracy. You will also be responsible for recommending material selection and hardness.
Responsibilities
+ Convert drawings from 2D and outdated formats into 3D drawings.
+ Reverse engineer competitor's parts and create new drawings from scratch.
+ Collaborate with the quality lab to obtain part measurements and update designs for accuracy.
+ Make recommendations for material selection and hardness.
Required Skills (at least 2/3 below required)
+ Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor.
+ Experience in reverse engineering parts.
+ Design of seals or gaskets, or similar rubber products.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge of GD&T.
+ At least 2 years of experience in relevant field.
+ Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
Work Environment
The majority of your time will be spent in an office environment working at a desk, updating and creating drawings. Occasionally, you will visit the quality/metrology lab to work with technicians and obtain measurements on parts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
