Who knows where our shared journey will take you? **Transform the everyday with us!** As an intern with the **Electrification and Automation (EA)** division of **Siemens Smart Infrastructure** , you’ll gain **hands-on experience** supporting power distribution systems that keep the world running today, while also being exposed to our Future Grids technologies that are shaping the power systems of tomorrow - all within a **collaborative, impact-driven environment** . **We are seeking qualified candidates for our Mechanical Design Engineer Summer - Fall 2026 Co-Op beginning May 18, 2026. This program is based in Wendell, NC.** **You’ll make an impact by:** + Supporting mechanical design and 3D modeling projects, including drawing updates and design revisions. + Assisting with troubleshooting production support issues and implementing design improvements. + Supporting requests for special tools and fixtures to improve production and assembly processes. + Creating and updating engineering drawings and documentation for new and existing products. + Collaborating with engineering and production teams to support prototype builds and hands-on development activities. **You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:** **Basic Qualifications:** + Current undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. + Candidates must be enrolled with the North Carolina State University co-op program and cannot graduate prior to December 2026. + Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the Summer and Fall 2026 semesters. + Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide housing or relocation support. + Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience with 3D modeling or drafting tools (SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD). + Hands-on mechanical experience through coursework, labs, or projects. + Exposure to production or manufacturing environments. + Familiarity with engineering systems (SAP, Teamcenter, or similar). + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset. + Willingness to learn tools, systems, and engineering processes. **About Siemens:** We are a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare.
