Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer located in Littleton, MA.
Reporting to the Product Manager the Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, validating, and implementing innovative and cost-effective product solutions of complex scope to support the organization in prototype development through full-scale production.
What a typical day looks like:
Apply complex design practices and procedures to assigned product portfolio in areas like sheet metal design/fabrication, soft tooling processes (sheet metal stamping/fabrication, tig/mig/spot welding) and equipment; telecom infrastructure products such as chassis, cabinets, racks, shelving, etc.Integrate multiple elements of finished design (such as backplane/interconnect, power distribution, and thermal management).Work with other members of the development team to support corporate design initiatives.Prepare recommendations for production and technology roadmaps that support customer expectations.Assist in generating production and technology roadmaps that support customer expectationsSupport actively customer base with design improvements that enhance manufacturability and assembly while minimizing costs.Provide complex technical support to customer base to enhance manufacturability and assembly while minimizing costs.The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
Typically requires a Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience and training.Mechanical & Electrical Tools: taps and dies, alignment tools, measuring tools. Office skills: telephones, data entry, office software to include, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation package.Impacts operations of immediate work group. Executes and may provide input to functional processes or technologies. Assists in achieving section/sub-function objectives for a functional area.Limited decision-making opportunities or responsibilities; makes guided or scenario-based decisions requiring management approval.
