Mechanical Design Engineer

What a Mechanical Design Engineer does at HP:

Support the design and development of mechanical components and subsystems (mechanisms, structures, enclosures) based on defined requirements and established engineering practices.Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, and basic tolerance analyses under guidance.Perform introductory simulation and analysis (e.g. basic structure FEA and optical analysis).Use simulation and test results to support design decisions and identify potential risks.Participate in validation and testing activities, including form/fit/function checks, basic shock & vibration, and reliability support.Support prototype builds and issue resolution, including documentation and root‑cause analysis with senior engineers.Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners to support design integration and manufacturability.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.0-1 years of relevant experience.Experience or understanding 3D CAD (Creo Direct Modelling/ProE or similar) as a mechanical design tool.Basic understanding of:Mechanical design principles and GD&TSheet metal and plastic part designMaterials and manufacturing fundamentalsIntroductory simulation concepts (stress, deformation, optical)Strong analytical mindset, willingness to learn, and good teamwork skills.
