Job Description:

Location: Newington, New Hampshire

CoWorx is looking for an on-site Mechanical Design Engineer who thrives on turning big ideas into precision-engineered products in the Newington, NH.

In this hands-on, fully on-site role, you’ll play a key part in developing next-gen electro-optical devices — from subsea amplifiers to fiber optic transmission systems.

This role is perfect for someone with sharp CAD skills, a strong understanding of mechanical systems, and a passion for innovation in prototyping and design for manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

Design, prototype, and refine mechanical systems for advanced electro-optical products
Work in both PTC Creo and SolidWorks to create robust 3D models and engineering drawings
Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to bring designs into production
Support New Product Introduction with a focus on lean processes and cost-effective solutions
Research new materials, fabrication methods, and drive technical innovation
Conduct testing and validation of prototypes
Drive design documentation and ensure alignment with industry standards

Desired Background/Skills:

BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
Expert in SolidWorks and PTC Creo
Strong knowledge of GD&T, mechanical design principles, and manufacturing processes
Experience with 3D printing, additive manufacturing, and prototype testing
Familiarity with metal and plastic fabrication, machine shop tools, and vendor coordination
Experience working in an electro-optical product environment a plus
Detail-driven with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Experience with Oracle-based ERP systems a plus
