Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Title: Mechanical Design EngineerJob Description

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be engaged in a pipeline of projects, potentially managing multiple assignments simultaneously based on demand. Your primary focus will be on Equipment Design layout, which will constitute 80% of your time, while the remaining 20% will involve designing flanges and fixtures. You will collaborate closely with the production team, contributing to warehouse design layouts, materials storage, and equipment material upgrades.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and dimension flanges and fixtures.Focus predominantly on Equipment Design layouts.Collaborate with the production team for effective project execution.Contribute to warehouse design layouts and materials storage solutions.Upgrade materials for equipment to enhance functionality.
Essential SkillsProficiency in Inventor AutoCAD and AutoCAD.Experience in fabrication, assembly, and equipment design.Capability in fixture design and sheet metal work.Proficient in CAD and SolidWorks.1-3 years of experience in a related field.BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing.
Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with turning equipment.Bilingual capabilities are advantageous.Strong communication skills.
Work Environment

The role involves working 80% in the office and 20% on the shop floor during regular Monday to Friday hours, with rare occurrences of overtime. The engineering team consists of six members. Travel requirements are minimal, ranging from 5-10% of the time. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.86 - $45.67/hr.
