Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support aerospace and defense tooling programs through mechanical design and drafting work. This position involves concept development, 3D modeling, detailed 2D drafting, and bill of materials preparation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Aerospace & Defense tooling, both on the floor and on computer, and be proficient in CATIA V5.
Responsibilities
Work with Client PE on the design of Fixed Assembly Jig and hard tooling for the aerospace industry.Perform clean-sheet 3D mechanical designs for aerospace/defense tooling/structures.Develop models and drawings based on prior or reference designs as needed.Generate complete and production-ready 3D CAD assemblies.Create 2D engineering drawings according to client-provided drafting standards.Prepare bill of materials (BOM) and documentation to support fabrication and assembly.Apply practical engineering knowledge to tooling concepts and design solutions.Collaborate with manufacturing and drafting teams to ensure design manufacturability.Essential Skills
5+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in aerospace/defense tooling.Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5.Strong familiarity with mechanical drafting practices, drawings, and schematics.Knowledge of OSHA, ISO, and ANSI standards and design safety protocols.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Bothell, Washington.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
