Job Description
The scanning technician will spend their day performing 3D scanning of bolt-on accessories offered to customers. These items are typically the size of a PlayStation or smaller, including fire extinguishers and toolboxes. The technician will place parts on a turntable, apply stickers, and use a 3D scanning gun to create images. Once scanned, files are saved and emailed for further processing into 3D models used in assembly manuals and customer renderings.
Responsibilities
+ Perform 3D scanning of various truck accessories.
+ Use turntable and 3D scanning gun to create detailed images.
+ Save and email scanned files for further processing.
+ Complete approximately 15-20 parts per day.
+ Potentially assist with final 3D modeling if backlog is cleared.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in SolidWorks.
+ Basic understanding of 3D scanning and modeling.
+ Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
+ Ability to learn new software quickly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Entry-level position, ideal for recent graduates.
+ Degree in Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
+ Experience with AutoCAD and MS Office.
Work Environment
The role is situated in a typical manufacturing environment, primarily on the floor for scanning tasks. The company is located in St. Joseph, MO, with a culture of engineers who often come from farm backgrounds. The technician will work independently with minimal supervision, expected to show professionalism and responsibility. The dress code consists of jeans and a polo shirt, and the position operates on the third shift from 9:15 PM to 5:45 AM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $31.00/hr.
