About the Role
A respected building services consultancy based in Fareham is looking to bring on a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a few years’ experience who’s ready to take on more responsibility and grow into a senior role.
You’ll be working on a wide range of projects across sectors including residential, commercial, education, and healthcare—supporting innovative, sustainable mechanical design solutions from concept to handover.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed mechanical designs for HVAC, ventilation, hot & cold-water systems, and plantroom layoutsProduce calculations, reports, and specifications in line with UK standards and client requirementsPrepare and amend design drawings using AutoCAD and/or RevitAttend and contribute to design meetings with clients, contractors, and internal teamsAssist in site inspections and technical assessmentsCoordinate with other disciplines to deliver integrated MEP designsKeep up to date with relevant regulations, industry best practices, and low-carbon technologies
Candidate Requirements
Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering2–5 years’ experience in mechanical building services design (consultancy or contractor background)Proficient in design software such as Hevacomp, IES, AutoCAD, and ideally some Revit exposureSolid understanding of UK building regulations and CIBSE design guidanceGood communication and interpersonal skillsAmbition to progress toward Senior Engineer and Chartered status
