Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Purpose

To design high-quality, technologically advanced rotating machinery for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries

To develop our equipment range through continuous improvement and new equipment development projects.

To provide technical support to all relevant business areas, including sales, manufacturing / assembly, installation / commission, and customer services.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Design mechanical components and assemblies, to achieve our customer’s specifications. Manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting timelines and technical requirements

·         Generate all associated 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, calculations, FEA simulations, documentation and bills of materials

·         Support assembly / testing to resolve any design issues. Liaising among different departments, e.g. sales, suppliers, managers, production

·         Maintain compliance with relevant engineering standards, regulatory requirements, national & international safety regulations and QMS procedures

·         Identify opportunities to improve and develop existing equipment as well as developing new equipment

Qualifications:

·         A degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng or above) or similar level of experience

·         Experience in designing original capital equipment 

·         Fluent in the use of  3D CAD packages (Inventor would be appreciated)

·         Able to perform mechanical calculations and/or FEA simulations

·         Solution-driven and customer-oriented approach

·         Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise accordingly

·         High level of attention to detail

·         Any knowledge of ATEX environments would be advantageous
