Key Responsibilities + Use in-depth automotive knowledge to evaluate, investigate, and process mechanical claims accurately and efficiently. + Communicate by phone and email with vehicle contract holders, repair facilities, and other stakeholders, delivering exceptional customer service and resolving claim-related inquiries. + Actively listen, show empathy, and provide clear explanations to ensure a positive experience for every caller. + Follow established processes and utilize company-specific computer systems to maintain detailed and accurate claim records. + Collaborate with team members and leadership to maintain high standards of honesty, fairness, and professionalism. Role Overview Mechanical Claims Specialists will handle incoming calls from dealerships and vehicle owners regarding mechanical repair claims. The primary types of calls include: + Dealership inquiries regarding whether recommended repairs are covered under the vehicle’s warranty, using provided guidelines to approve or deny claims. + Vehicle owners seeking clarification on why a claim was approved or denied. + Vehicle owners needing guidance on how to start the claims process or determine the next steps for a mechanical issue. Success in this role requires strong mechanical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to guide callers through claim decisions and next steps. Required Skills + Automotive repair experience + Claims support + Customer service and communication + ASE certification (preferred) + Familiarity with AllData or Mitchell (preferred) Qualifications + Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as an automotive mechanic or in a related field + Strong understanding of vehicle repair processes and the ability to explain them clearly to both technical and non-technical individuals + Excellent phone communication skills + Experience resolving complex customer inquiries with professionalism and empathy + Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, etc.) and the ability to navigate multiple software systems simultaneously + Detail-oriented self-starter able to work efficiently in a fast-paced call center environment + Bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates encouraged to apply + High school diploma or GED required + ASE certification a plus Additional Considerations + Willingness to travel for a 2‑week onsite onboarding training + Availability to work occasional Saturdays + Reliable high‑speed internet and a quiet home workspace (for remote or hybrid positions) + Experience with labor guides (AllData preferred but not required) + Experience with scan tools (preferred but not required) Potential Interview Topics + Previous work experience + Mechanical or automotive experience + Most challenging repair or project you’ve handled + Experience dealing with difficult or irate customers + Specific automotive systems or components you’ve worked on + Experience using diagnostic scanners + Customer service scenarios + Previous automotive work environments Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Earth City, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
