Mechanical Assembly Technician

Job Description:

Primary Objective:


Assemble MTS hydro-mechanical subsystems.


Major Areas of Accountability


1. Assembles hydro-mechanical subsystems according to engineering blueprints and specifications, bills of materials and manufacturing process documentation.
o Meets standards for quality, efficiency, and schedule.
o Interprets engineering documents to determine results and processes.
o Ability to use hand tools, specialized tooling, and basic measuring equipment.


2. Troubleshoots and repairs new and customer hydro-mechanical subsystems.
o Disassembles and diagnose problems.
o Develops solutions and resolves performance issues.


3. Collaborates to maintain accuracy of documents and records per MTS policies.
o Initiates modifications and/or improvements to engineering and manufacturing documentation.
o Actively and accurately executes non-conforming materials process.


4. Participates in process and quality improvement activities.


5. Exhibits professionalism on the job at MTS.
o Behaves in a respectful manner toward coworkers, engineers, supervisors, and customers.
o Communicates effectively with coworkers, engineers, supervisors, and customers.


6. Maintains and actively develops skills assembling & testing MTS products and industry technology.
o Participates in required training.
o Provides training (as appropriate for salary grade).

Compensation Information:

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $24-$29 based on relevant education and experience.
