**Job Title: Mechanical Assembler (Custom Switchboard)**
Job Description
Join our team as a Mechanical Assembler, working alongside a dedicated crew to assemble, fit, and mount mechanical components into heavy switchboard structures. This role requires medium to advanced assembly skills and proficiency in using power assembly tools. You'll work with engineering drawings and 3D models to construct large switchboard structures and subassemblies, ensuring high standards of quality and precision.
Responsibilities
+ Construct large switchboard structures and subassemblies using pre-fabricated metal parts, following engineering schematics and electrical drawings.
+ Mount and brace horizontal and vertical copper bus, risers, and bus supports inside structures.
+ Utilize ladders, punch presses, band saws, pump trucks, compressed air lines, and a variety of tools including power impact wrenches and torque tooling.
+ Construct pallets according to engineering design requirements.
+ Ensure the use of proper hardware, correct torque, and consistent fastening methods, checking tool calibration regularly.
+ Identify and report design issues in mechanical and electrical schematics through appropriate channels.
+ Inspect parts and materials before and after assembly for conformance to drawings, quality standards, and customer specifications, and make necessary mechanical adjustments.
+ Verify parts picked/delivered against the bill of materials and resolve discrepancies with the Team Lead.
+ Repair or rework issues detected during the inspection/test stage.
+ Cross-train and support other employees/job functions as needed.
+ Work in compliance with CSA and UL codes.
+ Maintain the accuracy and integrity of internal kanban and MRB processes.
+ Perform other duties as required.
Essential Skills
+ 3-5 years of experience in mechanical assembly.
+ Ability to read and interpret schematics and engineered drawings.
+ Proficiency in using power impact wrenches and torque guns.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High aptitude for mechanical work.
+ Ability to visualize and plan the assembly of a switchboard structure based on provided drawings.
+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing processes and Six Sigma tools.

Work Environment
Work in a clean, spacious production facility with some loud areas. Enjoy a stable day shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milton, Ontario.
***We are strictly looking for assembly experience anyone with an engineering will not be considered***
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
