We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing in our Future Grids portfolio to create the power distribution grid of the future. **We are looking for Mechanical Assemblers for our Retrofit Team on 1st Shift. This position will be based in Wendell, NC.** As a Mechanical Assembler you will be responsible for the building and assembling of Low and Medium Voltage Electrical Distribution Equipment, such as Switchgears, Switchboards and Breakers. **Shift Hours** : 6:00am - 2:30pm **Hourly Rate** : $19.00 **You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:** **Basic Qualifications** + 1+ year of experience in mechanical assembly or a related mechanical field. + Experience working with standard hand and power tools, both pneumatic and battery operated + Knowledge of torque wrench and applied torque values + Experience with using a tape measure and other measuring devices + Able to Identify mechanical parts and electrical components + Ability to occasionally lift parts or sub-assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs. + Basic proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking. + Applicants must be legally authorized for employment within the United States without the need for current or future employer - sponsored work authorization. **Preferred Qualifications** + High School Diploma or GED **You'll make a difference by:** + Assemble, sub-assemblies, parts kits, and aftermarket parts orders, including mechanical assembly of steel components. + Record job transactions, read BOMs, follow layouts and assembly drawings. + Set and use torque wrenches correctly, adhering to developed processes and seeking ways to improve. + Adherence to Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety policies, with a commitment to continuous improvement and be a strong team player. + Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management. **About Siemens:** We are a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare.
