Moog Space and Defense Group is looking for a Mechanical Analysis Engineer, to contribute to the conceptual design, analysis, development and testing of complex control systems used on NASA, military, and commercial applications.  You’ll be responsible for the development of complex space avionics, actuation and mechanisms, propulsion, power, structures, and shock & vibration control.  This position requires a high degree of foresight and creativity to anticipate and solve unprecedented engineering problems. 

The Mechanical Analysis Engineer will:

Contribute to the successful development of Mechanical Analysis which may include:

finite element analysis (FEA), finite difference analysis, stress analysis, deflection analysis, thermal analysis, fatigue analysis, fracture analyses, magnetics analysis, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), transient flow analysis and general material characteristics.

Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses.

Advise mechanical tests and correlate analytical models to test results

Prepare customer delivered analysis reports and present at customer design reviews.

Operate as a multidisciplinary member of a team of creative, independent individuals. 

Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical and professional reputation. 

Here's what you'll need to bring with you:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering

Master of Science Degree in Engineering and/or relevant technical experience is a plus

Secure foundation of mechanical engineering principles and general material characteristics with desire to continuously develop these skills.

Interest in structural and/or thermal analysis on high performance mechanical products

Familiarity with 3D solid modeling, FEA and other CAE (computer-aided engineering) software

Self-motivation, critical thinking, and strong analytical skills.

Demonstrated strong technical written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work onsite in East Aurora, NY (remote candidates will not be considered).

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $70,000.00–$100,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
