Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanic Trainee to support our shipping department, machining, and welding areas. You will assist in the refurbishment/assembly of Plated Heat Exchangers, performing tasks ranging from minor assembly to cleaning work areas.

Responsibilities

Constant lifting, moving, and stacking of materialsReceiving, counting, documenting, and labeling partsSweeping, cleaning, and organizing work areasReading and interpreting drawings and blueprintsGrabbing materials or tools for assemblers/welderBeing an extra hand ready to helpInspecting, photographing, and documenting irregularities in materialsFollowing directions with strong attention to detailEssential SkillsMechanical skillsAssembly experienceExperience in a Manufacturing environmentHand and Power tool experienceStrong hand-eye coordination and finger dexterityAdditional Skills & QualificationsAt least 2 years as a welder helper or in assembly/mechanical rolesAutomotive mechanic experience is advantageousHigh School Diploma requiredForklift and overhead crane experience preferredStable work historyWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

Our manufacturing location provides a collaborative team setting where job responsibilities vary daily. Candidates must be open to working both shifts. Shifts currently 2-12pm (10 hours), potentially extending to 12 hours, including weekends as needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NW Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
