**MANTECH** seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented **Part Time On Call** **Mechanic Technician** to join our vehicle sustainment team. This is a **remote** position. The selected candidate will provide maintenance and logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program. **Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:** + Travel 100% to worksites in various locations, including the United States, Europe, and the Pacific Region. + Repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors. + Replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems. + Maintenance support includes operations, system troubleshooting, engineering, design, installation, analysis, maintenance and repair of U.S. systems and subsystems to component level. + Effectively applies industry or military standard troubleshooting procedures to localize and isolate faulty system components. + Performs other related duties as assigned. **Minimum Qualifications:** + Three (3) years of qualified automotive maintenance experience. + Qualified mechanical experience includes one or more of the following: tactical and commercial wheeled vehicles, tracked vehicles, power generators sets or construction equipment. + Proficient with a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools, multi-meters. + Experience effectively applying industry or military standard troubleshooting procedures to localize and isolate faulty system components. + Must hold a current and active passport, ensuring a minimum of one year of validity from start date. + Willingness to travel to mission locations within the United States, Europe and Pacific region on an as needed basis and work 40+ hours on missions that will vary in length. + Must possess a Valid Driver’s License for the location in which the work will be performed, ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening and have a High School Diploma or GED. + Must have a Passport valid for at least one year beyond the start date. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience working on commercial construction equipment, as well as Civil Engineering equipment accompanying U.S. Air Force WRM Packages. + Equipment experience but not limited to are: MHE Forklifts 2K-30K, Asphalt recyclers, mixers, sweepers, water tank trailers, tractors, compact track loaders, graders, dozers, excavators, loaders. Equipment also includes fire & emergency rescue equipment such as Fire Rescue Trucks, #1 & #2 variants, including water pump stations as well as fleet vehicles such as pick-ups & tractor-trailers. + Knowledge of diagnostics, troubleshooting, and material specific to various manufacturers of equipment types such as Caterpillar, Engine-One, Case, JCB, Manitou, Bobcat, Freightliner, International, BCG, and OshKosh. **Clearance Requirements:** + Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting this position. **Physical Requirements:** + Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel. + Must be able to push, pull, and reach. + Must be able to work in high noise areas. + Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts. + Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.
