Job DescriptionOceanaGold are seeking a suitably qualified and reliable Mechanic (Surface Equipment) to perform all aspects of maintenance, repair, testing, and monitoring of site mobile equipment, light, heavy, and auxiliary equipment to ensure its availability, reliability, and safety in a quality, efficient, safe, and environment friendly manner. The role will report to the supervisor (surface equipment).
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Performs preventive, breakdown maintenance and troubleshooting tasks on all surface equipment;Perform routine basic Electrical and Electronic systems;Conducts equipment repairs and refurbishment;Diagnose and service hydraulic, hydrostatic, and pneumatic systems of equipment;Diagnose and repair of drive train, steering, suspension, and brake systems;Document equipment maintenance thru work orders and PRONTO;Relays to supervisor immediate equipment repair requirements and communicate safety and job specific needs;Suggests ways to prevent future equipment malfunction or improve equipment performance or safety;Performs tool keeping and housekeeping duties, and takes accountability on issued and toolroom tools and equipment to ensure they are kept tidy, safe to use and complete; andMaintains good housekeeping in work areas and around workshops.QualificationsBehaviour consistent with OceanaGold Corp. Values and the OceanaGold Way;High School Graduate or Diploma in Automotive or Mechanical Trade;At least five (8) years of work experience in Heavy Equipment Servicing or related industry;With valid Professional Driver’s license;With Mobile light and heavy equipment ticket;Exposure to mining, cement, power and other heavy industries is highly regarded;Holder of TESDA Heavy Equipment Operation/Services NC II is an advantage; andDrive for continuous improvement and innovation.Additional InformationWHAT'S ON OFFER:
