Join our team as a Mechanic, where you will be responsible for performing repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant process and material handling equipment. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the efficiency and safety of our machinery.
ResponsibilitiesPerform repairs and preventative maintenance on plant process and material handling equipment.Repair and maintain machinery such as motors, conveyor systems, and production machines.Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, sketches, and engineering drawings.Suggest improvements in work methods and procedures by communicating effectively with team members.Initiate purchase orders or work orders for necessary parts, tools, and machines.Communicate equipment, machinery, or product issues to supervisors promptly.Maintain an understanding of the production workflow from staging to storage.Complete required paperwork accurately and understand its content.Apply in-house asset management software effectively.Abide by applicable OSHA standards and environmental regulations.Observe all safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and good housekeeping practices.Act with quality, safety, and teamwork in mind at all times.Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by supervisors or plant management.Essential SkillsExperience as a mechanic in a production environment, ideally 2-5 years.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Proficiency in reading and working from blueprints and schematics.Experience with motor, conveyor, and production machinery.Ability to work independently and report on machinery and mechanical equipment.High school diploma or GED preferred.Strong communication skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsAutomotive or industrial equipment background.Experience or training in manufacturing, food manufacturing, or supply-chain environment is preferred.Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and troubleshooting.Basic understanding and application of in-house asset management software.Why Work Here?Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including a 100% company-paid Blue Cross plan with dental and vision coverage for employees, life insurance, vacation, sick leave, and 7 paid holidays. Work EnvironmentWork as a mechanic on ice cream production machinery in a downtown Harrisburg plant. The environment is fast-paced, with cold, hot, loud, and dirty conditions. Follow GMPs while working. Initial training will be on the 1st shift for 2 months, followed by the 2nd shift (M-F 2:30 pm-12:00 am or until finish).

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.71 - $25.71/hr.
