About This Position: The incumbent is responsible for repairs on all marine equipment in order to keep the ferries in service. Minimum Qualifications One year of experience or training as a mechanic. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: + Troubleshoots and repairs major and non-typical problems on diesel engines, pumps and other marine equipment in order to keep the ferries in service. This includes changing all coolers, adjusting governors, rebuilding engines, changing heads, and breaking down equipment and diagnosing problems, etc. + Directs and oversees the rebuilding and repair of marine equipment in the marine repair shop, such as pumps, outdrives, gears, etc... + Develops parts, tools and supply lists to able to repair marine equipment.
