Mech Design Engr II
The position is responsible for performing and supporting the mechanical design activities associated with the development of design concepts and validations for test solutions within the Engines and Power Systems Organization. The designer is able to provide medium to high complexity engineering design solutions across all the Honeywell sites. + Applicant is responsible for developing mechanical design concepts, 3D and detail drawings for manufacturing of test equipment parts, special tools and assemblies for the Engineering Test Service Organization. Test equipments includes but are not limited to vibration fixtures, lifting and handling devices, pneumatic systems, Special Tools, Pipe Spools, among others. + The position is responsible for design integrity of detailed component, and integration of design elements at the assembly level as well as the test equipment substantiation through hand calculations or through FEA using ANSYS Workbecnh. + Designs must comply with dimensions, notes, parts lists, and details from a variety of inputs including verbal instructions, sketches, marked prints, layouts, and equipment lists. This position requires interaction with manufacturing, project engineering, quality and customer support groups. + This position requires the engineer be capable to work, and administrate several projects in parallel, executing on time and good quality. **Education level:** + BS Mechanical Engineering, aerospace, mechatronics or Industrial. + Engineering Master Degree is preferable. **Knowledge and Skills:** + Professional with at least 3 years of experience in the Aerospace industry. + 2-3 years Proficiency with CAD Tools specifically in NX, CATIA V5 and CREO knowledge is a plus). + 2-D Drawing Skills. Demonstrate good level on the detailing considering correct tolerances, GD&T, surface finishing, manufacturability, etc. + Works with minimum direction on design concepts. + Knowledge of ASME Y14.5M Geometric Tolerancing and Dimensioning (GD&T) is required. + DFSS or Green Belt certified preferable. + Able to successfully work in and promote a team environment + Knowledge and experience on the use of ASME standards as are the Y14.100 Drawing Practice, welding standard D17.1/D17.1M. + Schedule management skills - manage tasks to meet schedule. + Familiar with fabrication processes, welding, machining, grinding, etc. Honeywell helps organizations solve the world's most complex challenges in automation, the future of aviation and energy transition.
