Job purpose & Strategic context:  
 

The MCO HEVA Lead plays a pivotal role in elevating the strategic capabilities and operational impact of Health Economics and Value Assessment (HEVA) across South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. This role is designed to bring deep HEOR expertise, high-level knowledge, and excellence into the Market Access community across multiple markets, aligned with Sanofi's global and regional priorities.

HEVA Excellence Across Multiple Markets

Establish and embed best-in-class HEOR practices, tools, and frameworks to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and consistency of evidence generation and value assessment activities across South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.

Act as a strategic HEVA consultant to the SK & ANZ teams, ensuring alignment with global HEVA strategies while adapting to the unique requirements of each market's HTA and reimbursement landscape.

Lead the development and implementation of innovative HEOR solutions that demonstrate product value, mitigate access risks, and unlock opportunities for Sanofi's portfolio across diverse healthcare systems.

Serve as a key driver of business impact by optimizing evidence generation strategies, health economic modeling, and value proposition development for both in-line and pipeline assets across the region.

Regional HEVA Leadership

Within the framework of Sanofi's global business strategy, support the SK & ANZ MCO in setting and executing comprehensive HEVA strategies that address the distinct requirements of Korean NECA/HIRA, Australian PBAC, and New Zealand PHARMAC processes.

Ensure timely and high-quality evidence generation and value assessment to support optimal market access by coordinating regional HEOR activities and leveraging synergies across markets.

Act as the primary HEVA contact for the MCO region, serving as a strategic interface between Global HEVA, MCO Market Access leadership, and local cross-functional stakeholders across all three markets.

Maximize the commercial success of Sanofi's portfolio by developing compelling, evidence-based value propositions that resonate with diverse payer audiences and HTA bodies across South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.

This role is central to ensuring that Sanofi's innovations are supported by robust health economic evidence and compelling value narratives that facilitate optimal access across multiple markets with distinct healthcare systems and assessment frameworks.
 

Key Responsibilities
 

HEVA EXCELLENCE CAPABILITIES ACROSS SK & ANZ

Ensure development of HEVA Excellence across SK & ANZ towards better access to innovation in the region through robust health economic evidence and value assessment

Maintain expert-level understanding of innovative, best-in-class HEOR methodologies and tools including Health Technology Assessment (HTA) frameworks, health economic modeling (cost-effectiveness, budget impact), Real World Evidence (RWE) generation, indirect treatment comparisons (ITC/NMA), systematic literature reviews, and value dossier development across the SK & ANZ MCO region

Support SK & ANZ MA Head in HEVA strategy preparation and development of plans that ensure the SK & ANZ MA Teams develop local best-in-class Core Value Dossiers, Payer Evidence Generation Plans, Health Economic Models, Value Stories & Messaging, and HTA submissions in alignment with Global HEVA and MCO SK & ANZ priorities

Coordinate HEOR activities across multiple markets (Korea, Australia, New Zealand) to identify synergies, share best practices, and optimize resource allocation while respecting the unique requirements of each market's HTA and reimbursement processes

Work on innovative evidence generation approaches and value assessment methodologies across the SK & ANZ region to improve and accelerate decision-making processes and access to innovations

Consult with the MCO MA Head and Country MA teams on shaping evidence requirements by proposing innovative HEOR methods for assessing health technologies that can more comprehensively demonstrate their value for diverse healthcare systems

Maximize internal MCO SK & ANZ readiness by identifying HEOR evidence gaps and opportunities, assessing impact for Sanofi's pipeline, and preparing evidence generation strategies across key therapeutic areas

Develop effective stakeholder engagement plans for HEOR activities: providing expertise on methodological guidelines for HTA submissions, coordination of external HEOR activities at SK & ANZ level, and ensuring connection with national HTA authorities (NECA/HIRA in Korea, PBAC in Australia, PHARMAC in New Zealand)

Support the work of the MCO MA Head and country MA teams in advocating with local HTA bodies, payers, and other stakeholders for evidence-based assessment and reimbursement decisions

Propose and lead synergistic MCO SK & ANZ level evidence generation projects related to HEOR and value assessment that can support multiple markets

Lead and support MCO MA Head in the preparation and execution of RWE/HEOR data generation strategies that can improve and optimize MA Value Stories and improve access to innovations across the region
 

EVIDENCE GENERATION AND VALUE ASSESSMENT CAPABILITIES

Serve as the key HEVA contact for Country Leadership across SK & ANZ in the areas of HEVA/HEOR/HTA, providing strategic guidance on evidence requirements and value assessment

Lead the development of comprehensive Payer Evidence Generation Plans that address the specific requirements of Korean, Australian, and New Zealand HTA bodies and payers

Accountable for all regional HEOR strategies, tactics, projects, and timely deliverables adapted to country-specific requirements to maximize market access and commercial uptake, including:

Local Value Dossier development and adaptation for NECA (Korea), PBAC (Australia), and PHARMAC (New Zealand)

Regional and local Real World Evidence (RWE) studies

Health economic evidence and modeling (cost-effectiveness analysis, budget impact models)

Adaptation of global HEOR studies, models, and resources to local market contexts

Collaborate closely with Global HEVA to adapt global evidence and generate local evidence needed to support access across SK & ANZ markets

Analyze the clinical and economic benefit of products from regional and country-specific HEOR/HTA perspectives to assess added value versus standard of care, then work to fill identified evidence gaps through partnership with Global HEVA and Medical Affairs

Ensure that all final HEOR deliverables are of high scientific quality and done in full compliance with Sanofi and regulatory requirements, incorporating patient, healthcare professional, payer, and HTA perspectives

Design and implement HEOR Communication Plans to ensure that product value propositions are recognized among external stakeholder communities (scientific/payer-influencing/HTA experts) across SK & ANZ, thereby maximizing market access and uptake

Support the assessment of pipeline products or Business Development opportunities from SK & ANZ HEOR/HTA perspectives to ensure acceptable probability of overcoming HEOR evidence requirements across the region

Manage regional HEOR budget and resource allocation for HEVA/HEOR activities, including managing networks of consultants and vendors to assist in local HEOR adaptations and ensuring deliverables are ready in high quality and timely manner

Lead post-hoc analyses of clinical trial data to address specific HTA and payer evidence requirements across markets

Oversee systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses, and indirect treatment comparisons to support comparative effectiveness claims

Develop and validate health economic models that meet the methodological requirements of different HTA bodies (NECA, PBAC, PHARMAC)
 

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION AND REGIONAL COORDINATION

Work transversally with the MCO MA Head, MCO Market Access Excellence & New Launch Lead, MCO Pricing Lead, and country MA teams to ensure alignment on HEOR strategies and evidence generation priorities across SK & ANZ

Serve as the HEVA representative in regional and country-level cross-functional teams, including Global Brand Teams, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Commercial teams

Collaborate with Medical Affairs teams across SK & ANZ to align on evidence generation strategies, clinical development plans, and medical communication activities

Partner with Global HEVA teams to ensure regional input into global evidence generation strategies and to leverage global HEOR resources for local market needs

Coordinate with country-level HEOR resources (where available) to ensure consistent methodological approaches and efficient resource utilization across markets

Actively participate in the Sanofi HEVA community at global and regional levels, contributing to defined strategic projects and sharing best practices across markets

Provide HEOR expertise and support to country teams during HTA submissions, payer negotiations, and stakeholder engagements

Interface with external HEOR experts, KOLs, and HTA bodies across the region to stay current on methodological developments and assessment criteria
 

HEVA CAPABILITY BUILDING AND PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT

Lead, coach, and develop HEVA/HEOR capabilities across the SK & ANZ MCO region to optimize contribution to business objectives

In coordination with MCO MA Head, Global HEVA, and the Market Access Academy, build local capabilities for HEOR evidence generation, economic modeling, and HTA submissions across the region

Actively participate in clear and timely communication, roll-out, and training of HEOR strategies, methodologies, tools, and tactics to country MA teams and cross-functional partners

Develop in-depth knowledge of legislation and guidelines related to HTA, health economic assessment, and evidence requirements across SK & ANZ markets

Anticipate and champion a culture of HEOR excellence, working with leaders and P&C to ensure all technical capabilities are developed and adapted within the function

Mentor and develop HEOR talent across the region, fostering a high-performing team culture focused on scientific rigor and business impact
 

About you

Education: Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MS, MPH, or PharmD) in Health Economics, Pharmacoeconomics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Statistics, or related scientific discipline. PhD in Health Economics or related field strongly preferred.

Languages: Fluency in English required. Proficiency in Korean highly desirable to effectively engage with Korean stakeholders and understand local HTA requirements.
 

Technical skills

Multi-Market HTA Expertise: Deep knowledge of HTA processes, methodological guidelines, and evidence requirements across MCO with understanding of the distinct approaches and priorities of each system

Health Economic Modeling: Proven expertise in developing, adapting, and validating health economic models (cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-utility analysis, budget impact models) that meet the technical requirements of multiple HTA bodies

HEOR Methodologies: Strong technical expertise in HEOR methods including:

Real World Evidence (RWE) study design and analysis

Systematic literature reviews and meta-analyses

Indirect treatment comparisons and network meta-analyses

Health-related quality of life assessment and utility valuation

Epidemiological modeling and disease burden assessment

Evidence Synthesis: Experience in synthesizing clinical and economic evidence to develop compelling value propositions for diverse payer audiences

Value Dossier Development: Track record of developing high-quality value dossiers and HTA submissions that have successfully supported market access

Cross-Market Coordination: Ability to identify synergies and coordinate HEOR activities across multiple markets with different healthcare systems and assessment frameworks

Stakeholder Engagement: Experience engaging with HTA bodies, payers, health economists, and clinical experts to understand evidence requirements and communicate HEOR findings

Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex HEOR projects simultaneously across different markets and therapeutic areas

Vendor Management: Experience selecting, contracting, and managing external HEOR vendors and consultants to deliver high-quality outputs

Scientific Communication: Excellent scientific writing skills with experience in developing peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and technical reports

Data Analysis: Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages used in HEOR (e.g., R, SAS, Stata, TreeAge, Excel-based modeling)

Business Acumen: Understanding of how HEOR evidence supports pricing, market access, and commercial strategies throughout the product lifecycle

Regulatory and Compliance: Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance considerations for HEOR activities in pharmaceutical industry
