Job Title: MATLAB Developer – Computer Vision & 3D Data

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka

The selected candidate will support the development and maintenance of MATLAB-based modules for system—a high-speed, non-contact optical inspection platform. The role involves working with image and 3D laser scan data , detect and classify defects.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain MATLAB .m scripts for:Image acquisition and preprocessing3D point cloud and laser scan data processingSurface defect detection and measurementImplement mathematical models for wheel geometry analysis (e.g., out-of-roundness, tread hollow, flange damage)Optimize existing algorithms for performance and accuracyCollaborate with internal teams to integrate MATLAB modules with larger system workflowsValidate outputs using real-world datasets and generate reports

 

Work Experience

Required Skills:

Strong hands-on experience with MATLAB, especially:Image Processing ToolboxComputer Vision ToolboxSignal Processing and Math ToolboxesSolid understanding of linear algebra, geometry, and numerical methodsExperience with 2D/3D data processing, including point clouds and depth mapsFamiliarity with CSV/XML data handling and bitmap image formats

Preferred Qualifications:

Exposure to industrial inspection systems or railway technologiesFamiliarity with defect detection using heat maps and 3D surface profilesAbility to work with multi-threaded or real-time data acquisition systemsWoking from office
