Mathematics Team Grader - BYU-Pathway Worldwide

Job Description

The Mathematics Course Grader is an important part of the instructional team. The Graders apply their skill and subject matter expertise in assessing student work by properly utilizing program-developed rubrics and feedback templates and diligently following outlined policies and procedures to ensure accurate and consistent grading, actionable feedback, and timely turnaround.

Important: This is a part-time work-from-home position with the following flexible schedule:

● 10-12 hours per week (may vary week-to-week)

 

Couse Description - MATH 108X - Math for the Real World

This course prepares students to understand, analyze, and solve real-life problems that require quantitative reasoning. Topics include the meaning of probabilities, how to read, critique, and apply statistical information found in news reports, public policy debates, consumer reports, and other daily life and professional situations; the use of mathematical models in describing, understanding, and making predictions about real world phenomena; and the mathematics of budgeting, loans, and investments. Topics will be illustrated by examples and applications from daily life and natural phenomena. Math for the Real World is to inspire students to act wisely when faced with quantitative challenges in collegiate coursework, employment, and daily living.
 

Position Summary

BYU Pathway and BYU Idaho online courses include both an instructor and graders. Instructors handle teaching and overall course delivery, while graders support learning by evaluating assignments and providing constructive feedback. We are seeking graders (support staff) who will apply their skills and subject expertise to grade assignments, support student learning, provide feedback, and collaborate with instructors. Applicants must be available 10–12 hours per week.
